Annual Sales Tax Holiday for Veterans (Watch)

HB 69 (McGhee) creates an annual sales tax holiday for veterans from November 1 through December 31. During which time the sales tax may not be collected on the retail sale of certain items to a veteran. For the purpose of this sales tax holiday, a veteran is a person who served in the active military, naval or air service and was honorably discharged or released, or who later received an upgraded honorable discharge or release. To be eligible for the sales tax holiday, a veteran must show proof of military status at the time he or she purchases the items. (Hughes)
