CS/HB 457 passed out of the House Community and Military Affairs Subcommittee Wednesday, March 23, by a vote of 8-7.
 
Voting against the bill and in favor of the FLCs position were: Representatives Berman, Caldwell, Campbell, Hooper, Julien, Pafford, Randolph.

Voting for the bill and against the FLC position were: Representatives Brandes, Costello, Diaz, Dorworth, Grant, Renuart, Smith, Workman. The bill now heads to the House Rulemaking and Regulation Subcommittee.
 
CS/HB 311 (Roberson) related to Local Business Tax passed the House Finance and Tax with an amendment that the League supports. The amendment is designed to eliminate the fiscal impact to existing business tax ordinaces. The League appreciates Rep. Roberson continuing to work with us on the legislation. The bill passed unanimously.

House Community and Military Affairs Subcommittee passed HJR 381 by Rep. Dorworth which changes the non-homestead assessment cap from ten to three percent. The Florida League of Cities opposes this proposal. HJR 381 passed 12 to 3.
