Today the House Health and Human Services Committee passed HHSC 11-04 by a 12-5 vote.
The measure repeals the statute creating the prescription drug monitoring program, a database used to track medical prescriptions.
During the meeting, FLC President Joy Cooper spoke passionately against repealing the database provision.
Senate President Mike Haridopolos has indicated support for the database.
