Community Success Workshop

Attorney General Bill McCollum presents, "Analyzing Your Community for Success," a free one-day workshop that will teach participants how community analysis can be used to foster community transformation. Experts will discuss specific techniques that include community-asset mapping, a housing condition study and windshield surveys. The workshop will be held August 14 at East Pensacola Heights, 3208 E. Gonzalez Street, Pensacola, FL 32503 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The registration deadline is August 9. Another academic year, another new beginning

Students have returned to school all over the state; most districts’ classes are already in full swing. But colleges follow a somewhat different pattern, and many, like mine, are just beginning today.

One of my nieces happily reported her return to her campus on Facebook™, her short post full of youthful enthusiasm and joy. On the campus of the University of Tampa, where I teach, students began wandering the campus (initially, many of them with their parents) on Tuesday last week. By Thursday, there wasn’t a parking space to be had.
