In this at-will, grant-funded position, the manager will plan, organize, promote and monitor programs and policies designed to implement the housing element of the Comprehensive Plan, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, the HOME Program, the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP) Program and other local, state and federal housing assistance programs. The manager will develop and maintain the residential mortgage portfolio tracking system; coordinate and monitor customer-service activities; monitor affordable housing requirements in the county’s Unified Land Development Code; administer competitive processes and approved programs to award project funding under the Affordable Housing Ordinance, the SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan and other approved affordable housing initiatives; confer with civic leaders, government officials, community groups and business associations in matters of planning and funding of new housing development initiatives; and provide staff support to the county’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Success requires a master’s degree in urban/regional planning, public/business administration or related field with a minimum of two years of professional experience in planning and managing affordable housing programs. Equivalencies: Unrelated master’s degree or related bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in planning and managing affordable housing programs. Three years of experience with residential lending, presenting to government agencies and community groups and conducting housing studies is preferred.
