The Florida League of Cities is a partner with the State of Florida in a celebration titled “Viva Florida 500.” Cities will be highlighted in this 18-month commemoration by the launch of the “History Happened Here” campaign. This campaign will educate Florida residents and visitors about the rich history in Florida’s cities.
The League recently sent a USB drive containing a “History Happened Here” kit to every city.
The kit includes a turnkey plan to help your city localize the initiative and use it to boost residents’ awareness of local history and promote history-related tourism.
The USB kit included:

• Event ideas
• Earned media strategies
• Social media integration strategies
• Editorial strategies
• School-based integration
