Thursday February 17, 2011 - Find New Money in Your Pavement Budget - 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST

Those of us at the local government level are facing a crisis trying to meet demands for maintaining our pavement management responsibilities. State and federal technical efforts to support pavement management and funding for pavement programs, often fail to reach our communities. The National Center for Pavement Preservation, under the direction of Larry Galehouse, P.E. and domiciled at Michigan State University, has developed resources and is a direct support for local agencies implementing their own pavement preservation and management system. This Webinar will provide timely information, realistic and practical answer to overcome pavement issues for all local road agencies.

Webinar: Community Planning Act: Challenges and Opportunities for Local Governments in Florida

Start Date

8/31/2011 01:00 PM
End Date

8/31/2011 03:00 PM
The 2011 Florida Legislature enacted sweeping changes to Florida’s planning and growth management system. The Community Planning Act (HB 7207, now codified as Chapter 2011-139, Laws of Florida) dramatically modified the role of the state in the planning process while emphasizing the role of local government. This presents both challenges and opportunities to ensure that planning and growth management remain a viable and effective part of a local government’s decision making process. This Webinar is designed for elected and appointed planning officials and professional staff responsible for planning and growth management decisions. Registration fee is $45.
