City History:	Incorporated 1913. The first town established here, known as St. Joseph, was the scene of the convention where Florida's first constitution was written in 1838. It was destroyed by a yellow fever epidemic in 1841. The City of Port St. Joe, named for the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus, was built on the former site of St. Joseph.
